Ecohydrology Group

Welcome to the Ecohydrology Group at UCLA, led by Dr. Yanlan Liu. We investigate how vegetation responds to and influences hydrological and climatic dynamics across diverse ecosystems. Our research combines numerical modeling—from individual trees to continental scales—with statistics and machine learning that synthesize ground measurements and satellite remote sensing observations. Together, we aim to advance understanding of the environmental challenges facing vegetated ecosystems and their roles in climate mitigation in a changing world.
